M4 - Fourth Year

The fourth year (M4) consists of clerkships that allow for further investigation into subspecialty areas and in-depth study of specialties of interest. There are eight one month clerkships - four required and four elective. The requirements include internal medicine, pediatrics selective, surgery selective, and ambulatory selective. Only the internal medicine course is uniform for all M4 students.

In the remaining four months, students take a senior seminar course, as well as several electives of their choosing. The more flexible schedule and a variety of elective options promote exploration of specialty fields. Students may also do away rotations at other medical centers to gain a varied perspective.

Match Day in March and commencement in May are the culmination of four years of hard work and dedication.
